As I mentioned to several, I decided to make a Kaleidoscope image based on that image. Here it is!

I took two copies of the image and made two different Kaleidoscope images from the origin. I layered them into a single image, using individual layers to again apply layer blending modes and layer effects to selections.

I am amazed that it does not easily or quickly resemble the origin.

I worked this image at native resolution of 7,000 pixels square. At one point I had 16 layers, and that caused Photoshop to labor on generating the redraws and when writing out the file. Because of that, I usually work at 2,000 pixels square and then enlarge the final flattened image using a fractal compression and decompression program. The fractal enlargement works well if you do not enlarge much more than a factor of 3. Well, that is my experience and procedure for working with digital art. Perhaps one day, CPU, graphics cards and disk storage will be fast enough and cheap enough to work at full resolution.
