I finally found and developed the digital brushes and techniques, albeit in 3 different programs, where I can recreate digitally, what I had developed to use in traditional oils painting. That took over 3o years to accomplish. I am constantly amazed at the power of the brush engines in both Photoshop and TwistedBrush.  Plus, I found several new brush techniques that give a nice result in the application of color to create a surface, like the pebbled walkway. The tree represents a good digital example of how I handle oil paints in the 1980s. I hope to create more image using that technique. 

So, here is the Homestead of the Shire, shaded by a large tree. North is to the right, and South to the left. The Blue Mountains are the boundary of the Shire. The rolling meadows lead up to the edge of the Blue Mountain territory, and make a wonderful yard for the humble home of the Q. #winkwink
